Measurement of temperatures, in particular the detection of the exceeding or a critical temperature. The invention solves the problem by a simplified calibration of semi-passive RFID temperature sensors (FIG. 2). Temperature calibration data and time calibration data are stored in a memory. The wireless readability of RFID sensors is used to carry out the calibration for large numbers of items, all of which are within the read and write range of an RFID reader (1). The storage of the temperature as a function of the time is used to determine temperature data which are compared with externally known data. The temperature calibration is carried out by means of the difference between these temperatures.
