Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplification of DNA from biological samplesfirstrequires the extraction and purification of the DNA. Traditional methods forthe purification andisolation of the DNA into a format that can be PCR-ready is often times labourintensive, costly,and/or time consuming. Herein we describe the solution and one-step extractionprocess of DNAfrom cell-wall free organisms in a format that eliminates the necessity forpurification/isolationof DNA and allows it to be used in subsequent PCR reactions, without the needfor inhibitor-resistant Taq polymerase
