AN INTEGRATED METHOD FOR IN-SITU RECOVERING AND UPGRADING BITUMEN/HEAVY OIL TO DISTILLABLE LIQUIDS AND GENERATING SUPER CLEAN DIESEL FUEL AND ELECTRIC POWER

A method is provided for highly efficient, environmentally friendly recoveryand upgrading ofbitumen/heavy oil that includes the steps of solubilising the bitumen/heavyoil present in the reservoir ina hot amphoteric solvent, pipelining/transporting the generated solution to aprocessing site, recoveringby flash vaporization and recycling the amphoteric solvent to recoveryplant(s), distilling the preheatedbitumen/heavy oil, mixing the distillation residue with coal fines thusforming a blend, pulverizing andeither cold briquetting or pelletizing the blend, charging thebriquettes/pellets into a moving bed gasifierequipped with a stirrer, co-processing the briquettes/pellets and gasifyingthe residue with anoxygen/steam mixture, collecting the vaporized products generated in thereactor, separating thedistillable oils and water, separating the impurities from the residual gasphase thus forming clean syngas,synthesizing amphoteric solvent (e.g. DME; Di-Methyl Ether) and generatingelectric power.
