The handprint information identification apparatus (100) comprises: a detection module (102), used for acquiring handprint information, wherein the handprint information comprises fingerprint information and/or palmprint information; a communication module (104), connected to the detection module (102), and used for receiving the handprint information from the detection module (102) and sending the handprint information to a terminal (300) connected to the handprint information identification apparatus (100); and an identification apparatus main body (106), the detection module (102) and the communication module (104) being disposed on the identification apparatus main body (106). By means of the technical solution, the handprint information identification apparatus (100) can be connected to the terminal (300) in a wired and/or wireless manner, such that the handprint information identification apparatus (100) is convenient to carry and use, thereby resolving the problem of lack of a handprint information identification apparatus in some terminal devices, improving the security of the terminal, and improving the user experience.
