A testing method for determining the short-time hydraulic failure pressure of a bamboo composite pressure pipe comprises the following steps: engaging a sample pipe with a sealing device, connecting the sample pipe to a pressurizing system and filling water in the same, and pressurizing the sample pipe until a failure occurs, wherein a bamboo composite pressure pipe used as the sample pipe can be a bamboo composite pressure pipe to be tested or a scaled-down bamboo composite pressure pipe corresponding to the bamboo composite pressure pipe to be tested. By improving testing steps on a sample, a selection criteria of the sample, etc., the method effectively addresses the problem of inaccuracy of the short-time hydraulic failure pressure due to a bamboo composite pressure pipe being damaged during a testing process, and avoids performing a direct test on a bamboo composite pressure pipe having a large diameter, thus significantly lowering test condition requirements of the bamboo composite pressure pipe having a large diameter, and simplifying the actual testing.
