A smart watch and a smart watch wearing-based vital sign detection method. The method comprises the following steps: measuring ambient light by means of a light detection module (10) after a smart watch is started for a first preset period of time (S10); measuring a distance between the smart watch and an external obstacle by means of an infrared detection module (20) when the ambient light is less than or equal to preset light for a second preset period of time (S20); detecting motion data of a wearer by means of a motion detection module (30) when the distance between the smart watch and the external obstacle is less than or equal to a preset distance for a third preset period of time (S30); and detecting a vital sign of the wearer by means of a vital sign detection module (40) when the motion data exists (S40). By means of the multi-detection of light, a distance, and motion data, the vital signs of a user can be accurately detected when the user wears a smart watch, so that the accuracy of detection is ensured and a false alarm is avoid.
