A data collection method of a refrigerator door closing monitoring technology and a refrigerator door closing apparatus. The method comprises: recording a safety time threshold specified by a user; starting timing when the user manually opens a refrigerator door; determining whether the time that the refrigerator door is open exceeds the safety time threshold; and if yes, automatically closing the refrigerator door, and sending technology use data to a data collection end preset by a manufacturer; or if not, keeping the refrigerator door open. By determining whether the time that the refrigerator door is open exceeds a safety time threshold, the refrigerator door can be automatically closed, thereby avoiding the waste or loss caused by a user forgetting to close the refrigerator door. In addition, by means of timely feedback after the use of the technology, a manufacturer can effectively collect use information of the related technology in time.
