METHOD FOR DETERMINING SAFE VEHICLE DISTANCE ACCORDING TO VEHICLE SPEED, AND SAFE VEHICLE DISTANCE SYSTEM

A method for determining a safe vehicle distance according to a vehicle speed, and a safe vehicle distance system. The method comprises: recording one or more speed intervals, a safe vehicle distance corresponding to each of the speed intervals, and a matching relationship between the speed intervals and the safe vehicle distances; when a vehicle is travelling, detecting the vehicle travelling speed and the distance to a vehicle ahead; determining whether the current vehicle distance is less than a safe vehicle distance corresponding to the vehicle travelling speed; if not, keeping the distance as such; and if so, prompting a user to keep a safe vehicle distance. By pre-setting a corresponding relationship between a vehicle speed and a safe distance between travelling vehicles, when a vehicle runs at a certain speed and the distance between the vehicle and the vehicle ahead is too close, a user is prompted to act; thereby a rear-end traffic accident, caused by the distance between a vehicle and the vehicle ahead being too close in an emergency situation, is avoided.
