The invention relates to the technical field of image processing, and specifically, to a method of acquiring data relating to using image sorting technology on the basis of facial recognition and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps: receiving an image sorting command, entering, according to the image sorting command, an image sorting mode; receiving images to be sorted, identifying on the basis of the facial recognition technology a person in the image; sorting and saving the images to a folder corresponding to the identified person, and transmitting, to a data acquiring terminal preconfigured by a manufacturer, technology usage data. The method and mobile terminal can automatically identify a person in an image and then save the image to a folder corresponding to the person, facilitating a user to conduct a fast search, and providing considerable convenience to the user operation. Furthermore, the embodiment facilitates a manufacturer to timely and effectively acquire usage condition of the related technology by means of rapid feedback upon using the technology.
