Disclosed is a method for liquefying a stream of hydrocarbons, such as natural gas, from a feed stream implementing a heat exchanger, e.g. a brazed aluminum plate exchanger arranged vertically and including an upper portion wherein the temperature is highest and a lower portion that is physically separate from the upper portion and wherein the temperature is lowest, said method including at least the following step: injection of a two-phase refrigerant stream into the heat exchanger from at least one inlet on the lower portion, such that said refrigerant flows downwards in the heat exchanger. The method is characterized in that the volume ratio of the two-phase refrigerant stream is between 5% and 50%.
