The present invention relates to a lifting device with an automatic/manual mode switching structure capable of automatically opening and closing a lift-sliding type smart window, manually opening and closing the smart window by switching into a manual mode, opening and closing window pieces with a simple operation of a button by having an automatic opening button on a surface of a handle driving unit and to the smart window with the same. To achieve this, the handle driving unit (610) for a lifting device which is an essential technology of the smart window according to the present invention includes: a housing (611) installed in one between a pair of the window pieces (20) installed in a window frame (10) to be opened by sliding; a driving motor (613) installed in the housing (611); a shaft (617) joined to a rotary shaft of the driving motor (613) to be relatively rotated by a medium of a gear train (615); a clutch gear (619) connecting the gear train (614) and the shaft (617) by being engaged between the gear train (615) and the shaft (617), joined to a coaxial line of the shaft (617) to be slid and reciprocated in an axial direction, and supported on one side by an elastic member (618); and a cover (621) joined to the housing (611).
