The present invention relates to a hollow type plasma torch which generates thermal plasma jet by arc discharge, and more specifically, to a hollow type plasma torch which can control a position of an arc column in a torch by using a multi-pole magnetic field. The hollow type plasma torch, according to the present invention, comprises: a first electrode having a first discharge space which is extended in one direction therein; a second electrode which is placed apart from the first electrode in a longitudinal direction, and has a second discharge space, connected to the first discharge space in a longitudinal direction, therein; and a magnetic field forming unit which is placed away from an outer surface of the first electrode or the second electrode, and forms a magnetic field by multi-pole, which is at least four poles, to apply the magnetic field to the first discharge space or the second discharge space. According to embodiments of the present invention, the multi-pole magnetic field is used to apply the magnetic field in a radial direction, as well as the magnetic field in an axial direction, so the shape and movement thereof across the entire area of the arc column can be electromagnetically controlled.
