The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a functional cinerary urn on which a photocatalytic coating layer is formed, and a functional cinerary urn on which a photocatalytic coating layer is formed thereby. The method according to the present invention comprises the following steps: (step 1) preparing dough for molding of an outer casing and inner casing of a cinerary urn; (step 2) molding the outer and inner casing with the prepared dough and drying the casings; (step 3) bisque-firing the dried outer and inner casing; (step 4) forming a primary photocatalytic coating layer on the surface of the bisque-fired outer and inner casing; (step 5) applying glaze on the surface of the outer casing on which the primary photocatalytic coating layer is formed; (step 6) roasting the glazed outer casing and the inner casing on which the primary photocatalytic coating layer is formed; and (step 7) forming a second photocatalytic coating layer on the surface of the outer and inner casing after the inner casing is received in the outer casing. As such, the subject matter of the present invention is the method of manufacturing the functional cinerary urn using a photocatalytic coating and the functional cinerary urn with the photocatalytic coating layer formed thereon using the same. Accordingly, the present invention forms the photocatalytic coating layer in a double layer on the outer and inner casing of the cinerary urn and cause photocatalytic reaction, to prevent the decay of ashes through antibacterial and sterilizing action, as well as deterioration or discoloration of the ashes, thereby preventing corrosion or discoloration of the cinerary urn.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
