The present invention relates to a foamed article having excellent flame retardancy and thermal insulation properties, and to a production method of the same. The foamed article comprises 0.1-8 parts by weight of a carbonaceous component with respect to 100 parts by weight of a flame-retardant polyester resin. The production method of a foamed article comprises: a step of blending a foaming agent with a melted resin material containing 0.1-8 parts by weight of a carbonaceous material with respect to 100 parts by weight of a flame-retardant polyester resin to produce an expandable melted material; and a step of extrusion foaming the expandable melted material to form a resin foam layer. The foamed article according to the present invention can improve flame retardancy, and can improve thermal insulation properties at the same time by incorporating a carbonaceous component into a flame-retardant polyester resin having excellent flame retardancy.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
