The present invention relates to a software defined network (SDN) based multi-tenant supporting network system for providing an IP address capable of flexibly facilitating a network operation by using a plurality of virtual routers; supporting a multi-tenancy through a plurality of routers; and providing the IP address to a network device, which is included in a specific tenant, in a network which supports the multi-tenant. The SDN based multi-tenant supporting network system comprises: a controlling device which controls a plurality of SDN based switches; a legacy container which handles a switch group including one or more switches among the switches as a virtual router, and generates routing information for a packet led to one switch of the switch group; and a legacy container application which generates the legacy container with virtualization technology by assigning a computing resource when a virtual routing generating request message is received. The legacy container application generates a plurality of legacy containers based on a slicing identifier which is specific information based on the packet led to the switches. When an IP address request is received through the switch, the legacy container provides a function of generating the IP address of the network device requesting the IP address based on a network environment of the switch.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
