The present invention relates to an estimation method for a wave period and a wave power generator supporting the same, which estimate at least a portion of a wave period by using a value calculated based on actual data to more stably and uniformly supply power. According to the present invention, the estimation method for a wave period comprises the following steps of: collecting location information which is changed in accordance with motion in the wave power generator; calculating velocity and acceleration of a wave based on the location information; calculating periodic values of at least a portion of one wave period based on the calculated velocity and acceleration of the wave, and then estimating the calculated partial periodic values in the same way as the next partial periodic values.
