The present invention relates to novel periplanetasin-1 peptides isolated from cockroaches and compositions thereof.The peptide chemically synthesized by the present invention (Periplanetasin-1) exhibits a strong antibacterial action against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. The antimicrobial peptide according to the present invention can be used for the development of antibiotics, food preservatives, cosmetic preservatives, and pharmaceuticals containing antifungal agents because of their low cytotoxicity and strong antimicrobial activity.;
