ARBITRATION OF PASSENGER RIDING AND PASSENGER RIDING AND VEHICLE ROUTE GUIDANCE IN A TRANSPORT SYSTEM BASED ON AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

Improved features of a vehicle based transportation system are presented here. According to one method, the transportation system processes travel requests for multiple passengers of a transportation system based on autonomous vehicles. Each trip request is assigned to a respective pickup location and a respective destination. The system calculates a respective passenger transportation route for each autonomously operating vehicle, each passenger transportation route being based, at least in part, on the pickup locations and destinations associated with the travel requirements, and each passenger transportation route is calculated according to predetermined prioritization criteria. The autonomously operating autonomous vehicles are controlled in a desired manner to meet at least some of the ride requirements.
