PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass estimation device for particulate substances, a sensor and a mass estimation method for particulate substances that can accurately estimate the quantity of PM in exhaust piping even if the flow rate of exhaust gas in the sensor fluctuates.;SOLUTION: A mass estimation device for particulate substances is equipped with a particulate substance quantity acquiring unit that acquires the quantity of particulate substances detected by a sensor disposed in exhaust piping in which exhaust gas flows; a first flow rate calculating unit that calculates, on the basis of pressure changes of exhaust gas entering the sensor and flows there, a first flow rate of exhaust gas in the sensor; a second flow rate acquiring unit that acquires a second flow rate of exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust piping; and a particulate substance quantity estimating unit that estimates the quantity of particulate substance that flows in the exhaust piping without entering the sensor on the basis of the quantity of particulate substances acquired by the quantity acquiring unit, the first flow rate calculated by the first flow rate calculating unit and the second flow rate acquired by the second flow rate acquiring unit.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
