PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an airtight package, which can reduce a thermal stress caused in a glass lid by irradiation with laser light to suppress the occurrence of a crack or the like in the glass lid.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an airtight package arranged by sealing a container 2 with a device mounted therein with a glass lid 3 comprises the steps of: mounting the device in the container 2; disposing a seal material layer 4 between a sealing portion of the container 2 and the glass lid 3 to put the glass lid 3 on the container 2; irradiating the seal material layer 4 with first laser light 11 for heating and melting the seal material layer 4 through the glass lid 3 to heat and melt the seal material layer 4; and irradiating the glass lid 3 with second laser light 12 for heating the glass lid 3 to heat the glass lid 3. The first laser light 11 and the second laser light 12 are different from each other in wavelength. The irradiation with the second laser light 12 is performed to reduce a temperature difference in the glass lid 3 caused by irradiation with the first laser light 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
