PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shellfish sorting apparatus and a shellfish sorting method in which lightweight small shellfish can be sorted with high accuracy, although conventionally being performed in a small quantity by manual work.SOLUTION: A shellfish sorting apparatus 1 includes a container 10 capable of receiving water, and a sorting unit 20 disposed in the container 10 and having a sorting surface provided with multiple openings. The shellfish sorting apparatus 1 further includes a drive unit 30, and this drive unit 30 generates driving force for moving the sorting surface between a lower position and a higher position than a water surface. The shellfish sorting apparatus 1 further includes a water discharge unit 40, and the water discharge unit 40 discharges the water for moving the shellfish toward the sorting surface when the sorting surface is in a position higher than the water surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
