A method for phase-modulating a carrier wave is a set of signals sh (t) constituted by a carrier wave having a frequency fC, and the phase φ (t) = hφ0 (t) of the signal sh (t) is sh (t ) = Cos (2πfCt + hφ0 (t)), where h is an integer and φ0 (t) = 2arctan ((t−t0) / w0). In this mode, the spectrum is directly generated. The carrier wave may be of an electromagnetic type or an acoustic type.
