An imaging radar sensor that measures the object in the vertical direction by comparing the phase of the offset transmitter with digital beam forming in the horizontal direction
An imaging radar sensor that measures the object in the vertical direction by comparing the phase of the offset transmitter with digital beam forming in the horizontal direction
In accordance with the present invention, an apparatus and method for locating an object (particularly a moving object) in a three-dimensional space is provided. The apparatus includes at least two switchable transmission antennas arranged such that a plurality of antennas having different vertical positions of phase centers form a plurality of antenna arrays, and a plurality of reception antennas arranged in a row. Yes. The at least two transmitting antennas are arranged with a distance in the horizontal direction corresponding to a horizontal distance between two of the plurality of receiving antennas. The transmit antenna is offset in the vertical direction by a value that is less than or equal to half the free space wavelength of the transmit signal. Alternatively, the transmission antenna can be arranged at an arbitrary position around the reception antenna. Based on the “digital beamforming” method, a horizontal beam sweep across a wide angle range is performed. By measuring the phase between the antenna beams when the transmitting antennas are sequentially switched, the vertical position of the object is measured. [Selection] Figure 1
