PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a star polymer comprising: a core that has a function of electron transfer and electron generation; and an arm that has a function of insulation, in which the star polymer has high solubility to organic solvents and can be uniformly dissolved in the organic solvent to form a low viscosity solution, and thin film can be formed by the wet-type film forming method, such as a spin coat method, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a metal phthalocyanine core type star polymer 10 having polystyrene-containing arm comprising a core composed of metal phthalocyanine complex and an arm A connected to benzene ring that constitutes the metal phthalocyanine complex. The arm A comprises a first terminal area 21, a first extension part 22, a second terminal area 23, and a second extension part 24.
