PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically construct a hierarchical structure for managing information such as a drawing to save a time and effort required for a user to construct the hierarchical structure from the beginning.SOLUTION: A hierarchical structure construction device comprises: an extraction unit that extracts a character string from a drawing in which a plurality of areas and a plurality of character strings corresponding to the plurality of areas respectively are drawn; and a hierarchical structure construction unit that constructs a hierarchical structure in which a character string corresponding to each of the plurality of areas is associated with each of the plurality of areas in accordance with inclusive relation of the plurality of areas in the drawing.
