PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine authenticity of a medium with an identification code printed thereon.SOLUTION: An identification code authenticity determination device acquires image data of an identification code, from a medium with an identification code printed thereon. An edge image of an identification code image is acquired from the acquired image data, to determine whether the edge image is similar to an edge image of a medium with an authentic identification code printed thereon, thereby determining authenticity of the identification code. In order to obtain a clear edge image from the identification code, color areas are extracted from the identification code image, and an edge image is extracted for each of the color areas.
