The development of dental varnish red propolis for control of dental caries. Dental varnishes have as main function is the prevention of dental caries.Currently the main pharmaceutical formulations that work in the prevention of caries in children disease are used in the form of varnishes.Also, due to its high capacity retentive and slow release of the active principle.In addition to its easy clinical application, has good adhesion to the tooth surface in children with no contraindication.The red propolis has been tested for its antimicrobial activity on the oral bacteria, with good results in vitro and in vivo which gives credibility to the clinical use of the drug.Were not found in the literature reports the use of varnishes based on propolis, and this product is a new alternative in the control of caries.
