摘要

The present invention relates to an isolated polynucleotide responsible for haploid induction in maize plants and related processes. In addition, the invention relates to plants that have been genetically transformed with the polynucleotide of the invention. The invention also relates to a method for screening a population of mutant plants for enhanced haploid induction using said isolated polynucleotide. The invention further relates to molecular markers associated with haploid induction in maize plants and their use in inducing line quality control.
