The present invention provides a system for abandonment or recovery of a load, typically a pipe, in the sea, and particularly in deep and ultra deep water.To be able to operate under heavy loads, the system a & R according to the invention comprises at least two cables.Each of them with a length adapted to a certain depth of the blade of water, and particularly for deep water.These two cables are attached to the first ends of the storage medium of a winch system for the provision of an adequate length of cable.They are also provided with coupling means for coupling the second ends of each cable to the load to be abandoned or recovered.Through the use of more than one cable, the weight of the voltage is divided through the various wires, in such a way that can be used for thinner cables.The means of coupling, and the system of winch shall ensure that the cables are not tangled with each other for abandonment or recovery of a load.
