The invention provides a method and system for decoding two-dimensional code using a weighted average gray scale algorithm. The method comprises: segmenting a two-dimensional code image received in bit regions (binary digits) each containing a bit data; presetting an offset threshold, and offsetting the original four bit region boundary lines outward to a offset threshold distance to obtain four predefined boundary lines; calculating an average bit region gray scale value using the weighted average algorithm taking an overlapping area between pixels within the four predefined boundary lines and the bit region as a weight;
