"satellite TV system terrestrial station having multi-channel broadband lnb converter / transmitter architecture with raw tuner on external drive". a terrestrial satellite television system, particularly for a make-or-break satellite television signal system, includes an external unit and an indoor unit which are in communication with one another via a single coaxial cable and single, separate power lead. the terrestrial satellite television system operates to measure and reverse frequency conversion errors using dsp techniques, allowing for more accurate generation and transmission of satellite-terrestrial terrestrial terrestrial satellite system link signals. the control data for the system is sent through a low data rate connection on a power cable or through a narrowband signaling channel through a coaxial cable. the system also uses a single reference oscillator to drive the various frequency synthesizers and the like. the terrestrial satellite television system uses related oscillators for the upper and lower link sections. the deviation of the carrier frequency at the lower link is measured at a carrier tracking circuit portion of a television signal demodulator. the carrier frequency offset of the lower link is used to synthesize several frequency signals for the upper link and lower link sections to correct for frequency errors. to the upper link section, the carrier frequency offset of the lower link is reversed at the top link. if the upper link is at a different frequency, the measured deviation of the system main oscillator can be scaled for different synthesizer reasons.
