The invention relates to a plant capable of converting MgP and NH4 to struvite by binding NH4 to the granulate formed by the MgP which is added and which is regenerated and recycled in the reactor reactor tank. The plant consists of a horizontal recessed tank with fixed baffles that control the granules that the rotating carriers collect at the bottom at the bottom of the reactor tank and bring to the top of the reactor tank where the granulate will fall out of the carriers due to gravity. The granulate will fall down through the reactor tank water and the baffles will send the granulate slightly against the inlet end of the reactor tank. The purified water is taken from the reactor tank at the opposite end of where it is pumped into the reactor tank. This movement will partly ensure contact between the granulate and the water even while the water is most loaded with NH4 and partly conducting the granulate towards the inlet end of the reactor tank. The method ensures that the water runs one way through the reactor tank and the granules run the other way through the reactor tank.
