A flat distributing plate (40) of a liquid ring pump is proposed comprising a sidewall (102) in which a hole (100) for reception of a shaft is formed, open through the said distributing plate (40), an inlet hole (38) and an outlet hole (44), formed with the said distributing plate (40), wherein the said inlet hole (38) passes through the distributing plate (40) and has a closing edge (38b) and a leading edge (38a), and the said outlet hole (44) passes through the distributing plate (40) and has the closing edge (44a) and the leading edge (44b), an opening (59) formed by said distributing plate (40) and having the first end (60) in the first section (59a) and the second end (62) in the second section (59b), wherein the said first section (59a) is open through a portion of the surface (78a), forming the first face surface (78) of the distributing plate (40); the said second section (59b) is open on the said second end (62) into the said shaft receiving hole (100); the said first section (59a) is performed at an angle between the closing edge (44a) of the outlet hole (44) and the leading edge (38a) of the inlet hole (38), the length measured from the first section (59a) to the leading edge (38a) of the inlet hole (38) is smaller than the length measured from said first section (59a) to the leading edge (44b) of the outlet hole (44), wherein the length is measured along a straight line; the said first section (59a) is not open to the outlet hole (44) or inlet hole (38), and the said first and second sections (59a, 59b) are made continuous, wherein the said hole (59) does not pass through the said distributing plate (40), and the hole (82a, 82b) formed in the distributing plate (40) and located substantially opposite the hole (59) relative to the shaft receiving hole (100), wherein the hole (59), the space (100a) formed between the rotary shaft (106) of the pump and the side wall (102), and the hole (82a, 82b) define a channel (58, 66, 76) passing from the first side of the shaft receiving hole (100) to the second side of the shaft receiving hole (100), wherein the said channel (58, 66, 76) is made completely coplanar with the plane of the distributing plate (40). A ring pump with such a distributing plate is also proposed.
