CATASTROPHE TREND DETECTION PROCESS IN REAL-TIME SYSTEMS: THE PROCESS OF APPLYING CATASTROPHE DETECTION SCHEME IN REAL-TIME SYSTEM TO IDENTIFY CATASTROPHE INDICATORS.
Real-time computing is an enabling and challenging technology in the current decade and is becoming increasingly ubiquitous. The design of real-time systems must guarantee the correctness of output and the time at which the output is generated. The next generation real-time systems must be designed to be more dynamic, and intelligent to detect the variations happening in the system before any fault occurrence which can lead to a catastrophe. Thus apart from existing fault detection and monitoring methods, new approaches are required to detect the uncertain variations happening at an early stage. Proactive detection of catastrophe trends in the real-time system by mapping the catastrophe theory is a novel contribution to the existing real-time system theory for augmenting it with an estimation of the probability of arrival of a catastrophic phenomenon.
