Disclosed is a process for the preparation of nanoSilver-nanoHydrogel based antimicrobial agent by Gamma irradiation for 10 minutes to 24 hours by invert emulsion process, where the water in oil emulsion consists water along with hydrogel forming monomer Acrylamide and Water soluble Silver Salt Silver Nitrate and the oil phase i.e. heptane consists of Surfactant AOT. The separation process consists of chelation by saline water along with dissolution by methyl ethyl ketone. The hydrogel provides physiochemical bond so that the silver can not leach out from the nano particles. Also the hydrogels provide functional groups so that they can be easily attached on any biomaterial surface.[IN-DEL-2010-00083A]
