The present disclosure is related to a novel anti-vandalism armor for power cables in duct cathodic protection systems that are used to transport hydrocarbons and high risk petrochemicals. This power cables armor does not change or alter the intrinsic electrochemical phenomenon of cathodic protection. The present invention is based on the provision of a robust anti-vandalism structure composed of different materials and is not affected by the positive and negative electrochemical currents created by the printed current cathodic protection systems; both, of the superficial type and also of the deep well type, and which are the most widely used methods in the fluid transportation by ducts environment. In this new structure, all the copper-based power cable (main purpose of vandalism) is eliminated, that as a tradition, is used in conventional systems. Circulating the currents through a lower cost Aluminum-Magnesium-Silicon metal alloy duct makes the same less attractive for vandals. Amo ng the innovative construction elements of this robust structure, the use of specific formulations of recycled rubber from automobile tires is described, providing beneficial characteristics for two types of concrete that are part of the armor structure of the power cables.
