The invention is related to a propulsion system for a water- borne vessel, comprising a first propeller and a second propeller, which propellens are arranged axially one after another on a central shaft. Wherein the first propeller is driven by a central shaft and the second propeller is driven by an electric machine mounted on the central shaft.
