An exercise device is disclosed which is more effective and efficient than the traditional sit up, but does not include the inherent negative side effects. The exercise device, comprises a pair of arcuate tube housings; a plurality of compression mechanisms positioned at ends of said pair of tube housings; a plurality of height adjustment mechanisms releasably connected to said compression mechanisms; a width-adjustment mechanism releasably connected to said pair of tube housings; wherein said pair of tube housings are adapted to be placed between the chest and legs while said compression mechanisms provide resistance during use, wherein the tube housings are arranged at a distance from each other and the width adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust the distance between the tube housings. These components work in conjunction to form an abdominal exercise machine that is more safe and efficient than traditional abdominal exercises thus providing an exercise device which is intuitive to use, will have increased efficiency, and can be used in a variety of ways.
