The invention relates to a protective helmet (1) , and the helmet comprises a crown (2) that comprises main part (2a) made of expanded polypropylene; a thorough hole is set on the top of the main part; the crown also comprises an impact absorbing part (2b) for fill the thorough hole, and a housing (3) fixed to the top of the crown (2) to cover the thorough hole. The impact absorbing part (2b) is mechanically connected to the main part (2a) and is chemically combined with the housing (3), so that the main part (2a), the impact absorbing part (2b) and the housing (3) are firmly connected. The invention also relates to a method for producing such protective helmet.
