A communications headset includes bone vibrating transducers supported overthe temporalbones of a wearer in front of each ear and an earpiece. The earpieces, whennot in use, areselectively securable in a holster formed on each transducer housing. Radiosignals receivedby a wearer or vehicular mounted radio are processed by and distributedthrough acommunications interface to both the transducers and the earpiece speakers.Ambient orexternal noises picked up by one or more microphones on each earpiece areprocessed toreduce ambient noises above a certain level.
