The invention provides novel Euglena microalgae having excellent proliferation properties (for example, having a higher relative proliferation rate). The invention also provides a Kishu strain of Euglena gracilis which is a novel Euglena microalga (deposited on November 30, 2015 at the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation, Biotechnology Center, International Patent Organism Depositary (NITE-IPOD) (accession number FERM P-22300); NITE-IPOD subsequently on December 22, 2016 received a request for transfer of the microorganisms entrusted on November 30, 2015, and a certificate of deposit for the original deposit was issued on February 1, 2017 (accession number FERM BP-22300)).
