Provided are a sleep state monitoring method and device, and a terminal (10). The method comprises: the terminal (10) monitoring infrared ray radiation energy of a currently monitored object (S202); and when the infrared ray radiation energy is greater than a pre-set threshold value, the terminal (10) determining that the currently monitored object is in an abnormal state (S204). The method solves the problem in the related art that there is no safe and comfortable solution for monitoring the sleep state of a user, and thus is capable of reflecting a physical health condition of a user in real time while ensuring the security and sleep quality of the user.
