The invention relates to a method for extracting cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin from lignocellulose. Said method can be carried out in an environmentally friendly manner when it comprises the following steps: step a) lignocellulose is produced from plant biomass; step b) the lignocellulose is brought into contact with a first mixture M1 containing water and an alkali constituent, and a first suspension S1 is created, the first suspension S1 comprising a first solid matter F1 and a first liquid phase P1, the first solid matter F1 containing raw cellulose, and the first liquid phase P1 containing hemicellulose and lignin; and step c) the solid matter F1 containing raw cellulose is brought into contact with a second mixture M2 containing formic acid and water, and optionally acetic acid, and a second suspension S2 is created, the second suspension S2 comprising a second solid matter F2 and a second liquid phase P2, the second solid matter F2 containing pure cellulose and the second liquid phase P2 containing hemicellulose and lignin.
