Characterization of Crude Oil Using Laser Induced Ultraviolet Fluorescence Spectroscopy

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a method for determining the characteristics of a non-characterized crude oil sample using a polynomial equation that correlates to the properties of the crude oil's spectral index and density. The polynomial equation may include constants determined using database and data fitting methods of a plurality of crude oil spectral data, density data, and standard characteristic data.
