The present invention relates to an apparatus of attaching packing materials to a coil, and a method thereof using the same, by which the coil is brought into contact with a terminal end of the packing material, as well as a front end thereof. The apparatus includes: a first attaching unit for attaching the packing material winding around an outer peripheral surface of the coil to the coil until the front end reaches a binding position where the front end and the terminal end are fastened; a clamping unit for pressing the packing material against the outer peripheral surface of the coil to maintain the position of the packing material when the front end reaches the binding position; and a second attaching unit for attaching the terminal end to the binding position, so that the entire packing material is brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surface from the front end to the terminal end, thereby improving reliability of packing.
