The present invention relates to a method for producing a transparent heat-resistant resin having excellent transparency and heat resistance, and a transparent heat-resistant resin produced thereby. According to the present invention, the transparent heat-resistant resin, in which gel generation is suppressed and excellent transparency and heat resistance are secured consequently, is prepared by the following steps: additionally inserting a second monomeric mixture to conduct a polymerization reaction by a secondary polymerization step; and carrying out a second devolatilization step at a high temperature greater than or equal to 250°C.
