The present invention relates to a novel compound, to an extract of Oscarella stillans containing the same, or to an anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic composition comprising a fraction thereof, wherein the composition exhibits modulatory activity of inflammatory mediator production and thus can be used for prevention and treatment of immunomodulation and inflammation-related diseases, and moreover, the composition can be used for prevention and treatment of diabetes as anti-diabetic activity is exhibited against type 1 and type 2 diabetes in a zebrafish model.
