The present invention relates to the associations between the risk of ischemic stroke and miRNA polymorphisms in a Korean population. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for determining a single nucleotide polymorphism selected from miR-34a CA (rs6577555), miR-130a CT (rs731384), miR-150 GA (rs73056059), and miR-155 TA (rs767649) in the DNA sample of a subject, and a kit for the same to provide information for predicting the risk of ischemic stroke in a Korean population. In addition, the present invention relates to a method for determining a single nucleotide polymorphism selected from miR-34a CA (rs6577555) and miR-150 GA (rs73056059) in the DNA sample of a subject, and a kit for the same to provide information necessary for prognostication. According to the present invention, it is possible to predict the risk of ischemic stroke in a Korean population and to provide information useful for prognostication based on the four types of miRNA polymorphisms. In particular, the kits of the present invention can be used to more conveniently provide such information.
