A method for inhibiting adhesion of a DNA virus to a surface may comprise providing a composition comprising a cohesive inhibitor comprising C12-16 alkyl PEG-2 hydroxypropylhydroxyethylethylcellulose. The method may also include applying the composition to a surface to inhibit adhesion of the DNA virus to the surface.
