Disclosed is a method for generating a covariance matrix for estimating an angle of arrival. The method for generating a covariance matrix for estimating an angle of arrival comprises the steps of: analyzing a frequency component for a received signal; and calculating a covariance matrix by using a signal value in a frequency domain of a frequency corresponding to the maximum peak value. Therefore, the performance of estimating the angle of arrival can be improved.
